Evaluation of the pilot implementation of iBRoad

Very positive feedback was received from homeowners and auditors who attended the iBRoad field tests. The large majority of homeowners would recommend the iBRoad Renovation Roadmap and Logbook to their family and friends. In particular, most of the field test participants said they are planning to implement renovation measures in the next five years because iBRoad enabled or motivated them to do so. Also, energy auditors found the tools useful and easy to use, and are keen to recommend them to their colleagues.

The detailed overview of findings of the field test implementation and evaluation results by homeowners and auditors involved are presented in the report "Test driving the Individual Building Renovation Roadmap and Logbook - Evaluation of the pilot implementation of iBRoad". The design, preparation and execution of the field tests are described in the report "The iBRoad field test experience". Lessons learned and recommendations derived from the pilot testing have also been collected for further follow up.

The concept of the iBRoad individual Building Renovation Roadmap and Logbook was field-tested in Bulgaria, Poland, Portugal and (partially) Germany from March to May 2019.

2nd round of Stakeholders meetings

National stakeholders from Belgium, Austria, Poland, Portugal and Germany had the opportunity to be informed on the iBRoad roadmap and logbook tools, within the frame of the second round of iBRoad stakeholders’ meetings that was initiated in October 2019.

Furthermore, the stakeholders shared their views and discussed the tools’ replicability potential in each of the aforementioned countries, as well as how the logbook and roadmap can be linked with existing national tools.

The second round of meetings will be completed in December as national roundtables will take place in Greece, Romania and Bulgaria. Upon the completion of this round, key findings and stakeholders views will be published and disseminated through a public report.

iBRoad is a project funded by the Horizon 2020 European programme, aimed at exploring, designing, developing and demonstrating the concept of individual Building Renovation Roadmaps. With the innovative approach proposed, the project aims to become a real driver for deep renovation. Representing an evolution of the Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and energy audit systems, building renovation roadmaps will serve as a tool outlining a customised renovation plan with a long-term horizon for deep step-by-step renovation of individual buildings (iBRoad-Plan), combined with a repository of building-related information (logbook, iBRoad-Log).
