As we embark on the new 4-H year let us embrace change and move forward with open minds. We are all in a new form of normal and have to adapt to all the new norms. Good luck to all exhibitors at the fair this year, and remember we are here for you.

September is self-improvement month and the beginning of fall. Allow yourself to fall into your happiness, fall into your peace, and fall into yourself by implementing self-awareness. Give yourself five minutes a day for the next thirty days to sit still and breathe.

WHY KEEP RECORDS?

Record keeping is a vital life skill taught through 4-H, and the 4-H recordbook is an organized presentation of what you have learned and accomplished in 4-H by documenting knowledge, attitudes and skills that have been learned. They help 4-H members develop goals and then see if those goals were met at the end of the year. It also helps record your history with 4-H, such as your leadership, community service projects, and workshops you participated in or taught. They also relate the experiences in leadership, citizenship and community service that have been shared. Record keeping can be fun, because it is something that you create! It can be a calendar on the wall, a notebook, or  your computer. Why keep records? 4-H records help you develop a recordbook, as well as apply for awards, scholarships and college. The recordbook is the complete history of a member’s 4-H activities. Winners in each age division advance to district. Senior 4-H members who place first in district advance to the state recordbook judging.
