iBRoad report: The logbook data quest

Setting up indicators and other requirements for a renovation passport

The purpose of this new iBRoad report is to map the data associated to a building logbook (iBRoad-Log), a repository of building related information, supporting the implementation of an individual building’s renovation roadmap (iBRoad-Plan), as a real driver for deep renovation of single-family houses, avoiding lock-in effects and contributing to improving the overall quality of the residential building stock.

The report provides guidance on how to set up the logbook by addressing the following aspects: what data should be sought and why it should be collected, which stakeholders could provide information or benefit from accessing that information, where the information is to be stored, who owns the data and how it could be safely accessed and protected.

The iBRoad project video is here

The iBRoad project video has been completed with shots in Berlin and Athens, describing what is the building logbook (iBroad-Log) and the individual building renovation roadmap (iBRoad-Plan), and how they will enable a building’s deep renovation. The video answers relevant questions by interviewing some of the key experts from the iBRoad consortium.

There is both a short (3’34’’) and a long (14’12”) version of the video available with subtitles in 10 languages (English, Greek, French, German, Bulgarian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Romanian).

iBRoad is a project funded by the Horizon 2020 European programme, aimed at exploring, designing, developing and demonstrating the concept of individual Building Renovation Roadmaps. With the innovative approach proposed, the project aims to become a real driver for deep renovation. Representing an evolution of the Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and energy audit systems, building renovation roadmaps will serve as a tool outlining a customised renovation plan with a long-term horizon for deep step-by-step renovation of individual buildings (iBRoad-Plan), combined with a repository of building-related information (logbook, iBRoad-Log).
