3 Strategies for Preventing a Mental Health Crisis Amongst Nurses DAN WEBERG Since Covid-19 first appeared, the eyes of the world have been on healthcare workers like never before. Initially, this was because of the selfless service of nurses and physicians who rushed to the frontlines in hot spots like New York, and then later because of the outcry over the lack of facility preparedness, PPE, and other essential supplies. In recent weeks, a chorus of voices has emerged from the frontline, sounding the alarm over the emotional well-being of clinicians who have had to ration care, watch their colleagues fall ill, and comfort scores of dying patients. |

Upcoming Show...Nursing: A Voice to Expose Human Trafficking of Children August 10th 2020, @10 AM Pacific Time on VoiceAmerica Health & Wellness Channel With all that is going on in the world right now, it is easy to forget that all of the OLD nasty stuff is STILL occurring and perhaps at a faster rate of speed, since attention has been drawn away from them. My guest, Dr. Jessica Peck, a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for over 20 years was on the show on July 6th. That episode was so compelling and dense with information, I invited her to come back. She is bringing with her, Holly Briggs, Director of Common Spirit Health’s Violence and Human Trafficking Response Program. Holly has not only experienced child trafficking up close and personal, but has written a book about it, Walking Prey: How America's Youth are Vulnerable to Sex Slavery. As a survivor of child sex trafficking, Holly has testified before Congress and consulted for numerous organizations, including the U.S. Office for Victims of Crime, National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, and the AMBER Alert program. Together Jessica and Holly will bring a VERY human face to this shadowy evil. |
