Why Education is Important in the CBD Movement PATRICIA GILK The minute the mainstream media draws attention to a new product, demand for that product inevitably goes up. No questions asked. Just a few years ago, almost nobody had even heard of CBD. Today, you can’t walk by a convenience store without signs in the window touting CBD oil pens for sale! Before you pick some up while you’re filling your gas tank, it’s important you understand the who, what, when, where, why, and how of CBD. Time for a little CBD education! CBD products have become socially acceptable rather quickly. This is wonderful news for CBD companies, but it also complicates the industry. Much like you can walk the streets of New York and get a knockoff watch from a peddler, you can also fall prey to fake or low-quality CBD products. The ramifications of buying this sort of knockoff far exceed those of a “Bolex” watch. That is why education is essential in the CBD movement........ |
| Nurse Turnover - Nurse Executives’ Perspectives on Causes and Solutions BAIRD GROUP Quality, safety, and service are under scrutiny in a Value-Based Purchasing environment. In order to achieve any and all of these vital metrics, an organization must have stability in its nursing workforce. Yet, 2019 showed a disturbingly high level of nurse turnover. Nurses are highly regarded members of the healthcare community and the clinicians with whom patients have the most contact and trust. They’re the ones on the front lines providing care to the most vulnerable and sickest of patients. This study delves into the reasons for turnover, the impact it has, and what can be done about it. Keep in mind that these inputs are based on qualitative, not quantitative, research. Qualitative data provides us with equally, if not more meaningful, insights based on real-life experience, providing the why behind the numbers. This study was designed around in-depth interviews for that reason............ |

Marijuana for medical use has faced more than 80 years of ridicule, unscientific, unregulated, mishandling of the drug, and decades of misinformation, myths, and unethical management. Boomers have advocated for the legalization of the drug since the ’50s and ’60s, but it has only been since California, Colorado and a handful of other states did legalized medical marijuana that it is being taken seriously to help with a wide variety of chronic and intractable health issues. My guests, Patty Gilk, RN and founder of Jes Naturals CBD Wellness and Jeri Schulz, MSN, RN, and founder of Tulip Tree & Dose Medical Cannabis Nurse Consulting, are joining us today to share their professional knowledge of CBD, dispel myths, and reinforce the efficacy of CBD in medical use. They will address Cannabis - Hemp vs Marijuana -Terpenes, Flavonoids, Entourage Effect and SO much more! |

Upcoming Episode...CNO's of New York: COVID DEBRIEF!!!! November 16th, 2020, @10 AM Pacific Time on VoiceAmerica Health & Wellness Channel |
My guests for this Episode, Rosanne Raso & Linda Valentino, two of many CNO’s of NYC’s Hospitals, who met the first major onslaught of COVID-19 on the East Coast. We’ve heard a LOT about the incredible efforts of frontline nurses, doctors & essential personnel, but VERY little about the HEROS behind the scenes. On March 29, 2020, Linda received a call from the President & COO of Mount Sinai Hospital telling her to report to Mount Sinai Brooklyn to serve as the hospital’s Incident Commander. Having previously served as the CNO of that site, she knew the hospital and its staff. At that time, 25% of the staff, including the hospital’s President & CNO were out sick with COVID illness. The hospital was the first Ground ZERO in NYC, and she was to lead the hospital out of near collapse, due to the high volume of patients and sick staff. Rosanne Raso tells another gripping story of her role as President & CNO of New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center during this time. |
